Band Agents

So you are looking for a band agent?

Finding a reputable and reliable agent for your band can be a difficult task. A good first step is to search the internet for agents and then narrow your prospective agencies down to those who specialise in your style of music. However, to come at the problem from another angle you could find similar bands to yours and then see who represents them. If a band that you respect is using an agent then they must be doing something right.

If your band is interested in playing at weddings, functions and corporate events, we would like to recommend the Last Minute Musicians Entertainment Agency & Band Agency. They have a good reputation and will always put you in touch with quality clients.

Online Band Agency

Using the internet to find a band agency.

As well as the "old-fashioned" way of finding a representative, e.g. sending out press packs, we would also recommend the many online band agencies. Once you find a suitable looking agency then look at their recent clients, client testimonials etc. Any agent worth his (or her) salt will have an good list of clients and some good feedback. Also, try to communicate with some of the artists on their roster to see how they feel about their business. Follow this link to find a list of Artist Management Companies who we feel could help you. See our blog over at How to Get Gigs for some extra help and advice from professional musicians working in London UK.

Some of our favourite artists:

Loaded - Covers Band - Formed in the spring of 2001 and have played over 450 weddings, parties and corporate functions since, including shows in France and Portugal . . . Fronted by charismatic singer Andy Bareham, they are a four-piece rock band who play a wide range of 60s to 00s hits. LOADED cover everything from Bill Haley to the Arctic Monkeys. High points include the band’s first TV appearance on BBCs ‘Eastenders’, when they performed two songs (‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’ and the Kinks’ ‘Waterloo Sunset’) on the hallowed turf of Walford Park . . . Also, the 2005 Cancer Research fundraiser under the huge roofs of the Royal Courts of Justice.

Alam Nathoo Jazz Sax Trio - Alam began playing the clarinet at the age of eight, mainly because he thought it was much better than the recorder. This led to the discovery of the saxophone some years later. Early musical experiences were very funk, rock and latin based, and it wasn’t until he began studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama that Alam fell in love with all (well, most) things jazz. Since graduating Alam has travelled to Tanzania to check out his roots, played lots of music with lots of nice people (including TV appearances with Josh Ritter, McFly, Jane Mcdonald, and performances and radio broadcasts in Porto and on BBC Radio1 with the Heritage Orchestra). Most recently, Alam finished the jazz Masters course at Trinity College of Music, winning the Gold Medal for performance - the college's highest award, as well as being nominated as a finalist for the Worshipful Company of Musicians' 'Young Jazz Musician of The Year 2009'.

Bergonzi String Quartet - The Bergonzi Quartet was formed in 2000 at Trinity College of Music, London where they won several major prizes for chamber music. The quartet have performed in a wide range of scenarios and at a large number of venues including recitals onboard the Cutty Sark, Greenwich and a performance in the presence of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh at the Guildhall, London. Some of the quartet’s previous clients include Alcatel, the Classical Music Lover’s Introduction Agency and the Royal Company of Plumbers. The quartet enjoys a long standing relationship with the Royal Variety Club and has played at several of their events at London’s Hilton, Dorchester and Savoy hotels. The Bergonzi Quartet recently appeared on Classic FM performing one of their own arrangements.
